When we spend long hours working at our desks, the office desk seems to become our new companion. However, prolonged work can easily lead to physical discomfort, such as spinal and musculoskeletal issues. Early research indicates that alternating between sitting and standing every 30 to 60 minutes is beneficial. Maintaining a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio between these positions enhances comfort and productivity while sustaining employee energy levels. Therefore, when selecting an appropriate desk, prioritizing ergonomic design and aesthetics becomes particularly crucial.

The height of the table

The optimal height for an adjustable desk should prioritize comfort during use. When standing to use the mouse and keyboard, your arms should form a 90-degree angle with your body, with an ideal distance of 40-75cm between you and the computer screen. At the same time, you can maintain a standing position with your eyes level with the ground and shoulders relaxed. Then use the height adjustment buttons until your fingers touch the keyboard and mouse, setting the desk height to your desired position.

Screen angle

When we rely on computers for extended periods of work and entertainment, the viewing angle of the screen is also a key consideration. The top of the screen should be level with or slightly below eye level and tilted upward at a slight angle. Additionally, the distance between the screen and the user should be no less than the distance from the middle finger to the elbow. To address this, AOKE has developed single (or dual) arm monitor mounts capable of accommodating displays ranging from 14 to 32 inches, featuring a 28-centimeter height adjustment range.

Overall, in daily life, we can leverage advancements in modern technology—such as smart home systems—to make living more convenient. Similarly, in office environments, fully applying ergonomics through adjustable desks and accessories allows us to reduce the health impacts of prolonged sitting by adjusting the height and angle of work equipment. The ideal height for a standing desk should align with the elbows, while the computer screen should be at eye level or slightly below. Equally important is alternating between sitting and standing positions, and using accessories like anti-fatigue mats and keyboard trays to improve posture while standing and alleviate physical strain. This is precisely what AOKE upholds in its operations and production: providing a healthy work environment for customers worldwide.
